I saw Cellar Darling, iamthemorning and their collaboration project called Maer live tonight. Something different, but very good. Cellar Darling especially have a bunch of great songs. But both bands are very talented. The bonus collaboration performance was a nice surprise.

Ik was al een dikke 20 jaar niet meer op de 3 oktober kermis geweest in Leiden. Al die drukte en herrie is niet zo mijn ding. Maar mijn zoontje van 9 wilde heel graag. Dus samen naar de kermis vandaag, in de regen. Was leuk, maar holy shit wat ben je een hoop geld kwijt aan een paar attracties en wat eten. Ik ben blij dat ik niet drie kinderen heb die overal samen in willen.
Ik heb vanochtend The Creator gezien in de bioscoop. Ik deelde de zaal met 1 ander persoon. We hadden meer dan 160 stoelen voor onszelf. 🥳
Maar mooie film. Blijkbaar relatief laag budget, maar ziet er beter uit dan de meeste big budget films. Prachtige shots van futuristische landschappen in ieder geval. Acteurs ook erg goed. Verhaal beetje cliché, maar de cinematografie maakt het wel weer een beetje goed. Aanrader. #TheCreator #Film

And it’s not that I believe Server Driven UI (SDUI) isn’t a good solution, but ours is a reinvention of HTML, but more basic. And I think that’s where we took a wrong turn. We’re doing this on an Atoms and Molecules level, while we should be doing this on a Organisms level (Atomic Design). #Frontend
Obviously, I’m not a fan of that idea. But I can understand where they are coming from. But I’m literally at the other side of the spectrum. Like these two excellent blog posts state: I’m a crafter and want to use declarative programming and I have a frustratingly hard time getting my colleagues to understand my point of view.
We’re at this point where there are ideas to port a subset of flexbox to iOS, Android and web. So we all can use the same very basic layout components to create a very basic UI.

Gisteren 65daysofstatic in het Tolhuistuin gezien. Toffe instrumentale band die post-rock met electronica mixt. Twee sets. Integraal een album vanwege het 10-jarig jubileum en daarna een set met wat songs van andere albums. Knap hoe ze het spannend weten te houden de hele avond.
Het was weer eens zo'n dag dat je boos op LinkedIn vacatures gaat checken. Toch jammer dat we zo afhankelijk zijn geworden van die site. Het lijkt tegenwoordig wel op Facebook. Corporate influencers die allemaal onzin delen. Wat een ellende.
The second wall socket where I wanted to set up a PoE access point had an Ethernet cable coming out of the wall, not even 10cm long. It took me more than an hour to attach a plug on to it. Limited space and light. It made my day (week!) getting the wire colours finally in the correct order and confirmed by my test equipment.
Finally I've found the time and courage to strip the network cable in the wall and attach a new plug to it. On Sunday I did a dry run on an extra cable I had around and messed up the wires color order. Apparently reading is very hard since I did the same thing today 😅 . But later I managed to figure it out. I'm happy, because now my wireless access point could be placed in the wall, and powered by PoE.
